Thing Two Stands!

Okay- time to update you guys!
Thing Two can stand holding on to things now! He is "cruising" as well, along the furniture.
He is getting so big!! Only 3 more months and he is going to be a year old.
He is eating mainly what we eat now. He does not like his baby food anymore.
He has two teeth! His two bottom teeth. He loves using them to bite peices of food.

Thing One is going to be 3 this May. In less than a month.
I can't believe it.

He is such a good boy! So helpful to me.

This weekend Pops installed a dog run in our backyard. This way when the dogs go outside to use the bathroom, they will have an isolated area, instead of being able to tear up our whole back yard!
I cleaned and raked the entire backyard this weekend as well, and we are going to put some nice grass seed down.
It will be nice to be able to sit on our grass!!
I want to be able to play out there this summer.

This weekend I also go my hair done.

A friend of mine who works at a Salon did it, and I think she did a great job!

There will be more soon; lots of pictures of the kids!

Thing Two; he's so cute!

Thing Two was in his saucer the other day, and when I walked past him he took the opportunity to keep me there and grabbed my pant leg!
He grabbed it with both hands and would not let go!
Luckily the camera was within my reach.

Thing Two eating squash.

Thing Two got to try the butternut squash today! This was the best he has eaten solid foods in awhile. It's probably because I didn't add any cereal to it, it was just plain squash. (He doesn't like the cereal.)
Unfortunately Thing Two is so stuffed up that he couldn't finish his food. He is now laying near the humidifier to help clear him up.

Catching Up

I will be catching up to the holiday posts soon, but until then, enjoy this video of Thing Two laughing!

I have to apologize for being MIA for awhile. I had way too much to do, and was falling behind on everything. The stress was too much; but after having a rested weekend with some fun in there I feel much better. I was even able to get all the laundry folded, with Pops' help, that had piled up EVERYWHERE.
I've got most of my supplies together for Thanksgiving. I was able to find a large tin pan to cook my 17lb. turkey in for $1 at the dollar store. (They were $10 at Meijer.)
This week is going to be so busy too, but I hope that I will be able to keep up with the blog again.

Thing One, Thing Two, and I have all had stuffy noses, so I've been keeping the humidifier going during the day.

Here is a video of Pops and Thing One having fun this weekend at Grandpa's house!

This is a recipe for our Family Favorite Chili. I make it in the slow cooker first thing in the morning, and then will let it sit all day; everyone being able to serve themselves whenever. This meal is perfect for when I'm busy and can't make 3 meals that day, or am going to be gone for the day. It has two protein sources and is very filling! This can also be made without the meat, or without the beans. You can also add only one can of beans if you want, but I like two. You can vary the seasonings as well. I like a lot of cumin, and only enough chili powder to give it a little bite, not a big kick.

Family Favorite Chili

Ingredients:
2lbs lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped

28oz can diced tomatos, undrained
15oz can tomato sauce

2Tbsp ground chili powder
2tsp ground cumin
1tsp salt
1tsp pepper
2 15oz cans red kidney beans
shredded cheddar cheese, optional

Directions:
In skillet, cook beef over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until brown. Drain.
In 3 1/2 to 6 quart slow cooker, mix beef and remaining ingredients except beans and cheese.
Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 3-4 hours.
Stir in beans. Increase heat setting to high and cook for another 15 minutes until slightly thickened.
Stir in cheese.

Baby Laughs and Energy

Here is a video of Thing Two giggling. :)

The drinking more water is going well. Throughout the day I will notice that I start to feel tired. When that happens I will take a second to get a big glass of water and will drink it. Since I usually drink nothing during the day, I have noticed a big different. It gives me a perfect energy boost to help me keep going through the day.

Do you drink the daily recommendation of water?
Do you do anything to help you remember or to get you to drink more?
How do you like to drink your water?

Thing One Pedals a Bike!

I was able to take this short video of Thing One pedaling a bike for the first time! He got a Schwinn three wheeler from a family friend; Lynn (thank you!), and it was the perfect size for him.

He started going too fast and I had to put the camera down to be able to run with him and help him steer!
